Yes I do! I use EMDR quite frequently to help my clients work through an upsetting event or even during times when they are confused about an experience they have. Through EMDR, we can "get out of our own way" and let our brains do what they do best - work though problems!

As a neurodiversity-affirming clinician, I integrate approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR to help clients build resilience and live authentically.
My work is situated within the social model of disability, focusing on reducing barriers rather than “fixing” differences. My lived experience as a neurodivergent individual deepens my empathy and advocacy, making me a trusted ally for those navigating life’s challenges.
My approach unpacks the effects of ableism, trauma, and navigating the inherent challenges and strengths of neurodiversity!

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based psychological intervention that belongs to the “third wave” of cognitive-behavioral therapies. It emphasizes psychological flexibility, which is the ability to stay present and act in alignment with personal values even in the presence of difficult thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate or control unpleasant internal experiences, ACT encourages acceptance and mindfulness while committing to value-driven actions.
This process empowers individuals to respond to their thoughts with flexibility and creativity rather than reacting out of fear or habit.
For a recent systematic review on the effectiveness of ACT to help with distress, see https://doi.org/10.3390/healthcare13131587
